FRONTLINE Plus for Small Dogs is a topical application for the treatment of flea infestations, alone or in association with ticks and/or biting lice in small breed dogs weighing 2 - 10kg. Im going to re-dose as recommended a month after the first application to ensure continued protection. These dying fleas often rise to the top of the pet’s coat and bounce, so if you see fleas after treatment, it’s often a sign the product has got to work. However, fleas are killed after contact with your treated pet: within 24 hours for FRONTLINE PLUS ® and FRONTLINE ® SPOT ON, or within 6 hours for FRONTLINE TRI-ACT ®.

FRONTLINE PLUS ®, FRONTLINE TRI-ACT ® and FRONTLINE ® SPOT ON kill fleas by affecting their nervous system, making them hyperactive before dying. Unlike other flea treatments, FRONTLINE Pluskills ticks too, helping to reduce the risk of tick-borne disease transmission. Fleas and ticks are killed through contact with your pet’s skin and coat – they don’t need to bite to be killed. If the product is accidentally swallowed, seek medical advice immediately and show the package leaflet to the physician.However this is a bird specific mite and so it should not be able to cause an infestation in your dog. Once FRONTLINE PLUS ®, FRONTLINE TRI-ACT ® or FRONTLINE ® SPOT ON has been applied, it’s recommended to keep your pet out of the rain and away from water (including the sea, streams, rivers and ponds) for the next 48 hours. In the last 8 days since treatment the number of fleas I’m fining s increasing despite thoroughly cleaning and insecticide spraying the house. Additionally, it contains an ingredient that kills ticks within 48 hours, reducing the risk of tick-borne diseases.

It is good practice to use a preventative flea treatment anyway as prevention is always easier than treatment when it comes to external parasites.

If you have a small dog under 10kg, Frontline Plus Spot on will kill adult fleas but also prevent flea eggs from hatching - breaking the life cycle. Althoigh easy to apply I can't say I am impressed with this product as, despite applying it over a week ago, I am still finding live fleas on my dog. Frontline Plus Spot-on Large Dog not only kills fleas and ticks on your pet it also contains active IGR technology that stops flea eggs from hatching and larvae developing in your home. There are active ingredients in flea medicine for extra large dogs 40-60 kg that kills fleas, tickles, and other parasites. Suitable for dogs older than 8 weeks old, FRONTLINE Plus contains the active ingredient Fipronil, that works to kill 98-100% of fleas within 24 hours, and ticks and biting lice within 48 hours.
