Description

Our lives are usually too full of noise, so this is the ideal moment of the day to experience real silence. An A5 booklet with the liturgies (including the melody line of the music) for Morning, Midday and Evening Office plus the Meditations for each day of the month from Celtic Daily Prayer Book 2: Farther Up and Farther In. A revised edition of this classic compendium of readings and prayers for every day of the year, with Celtic themes and inspiration. I usually do the morning prayer myself wherever I am at home or working at a hotel away or waiting in my car.

This compilation of said and sung liturgies makes the Northumbria Community's 'Daily Office available to a wide audience. If you are interested in using part of our liturgy on a regular basis in public worship, we produce a range of extracts from Celtic Daily Prayer printed on high quality trifold A4 cards and A5 booklets for the purpose and ask that you purchase supplies of these rather than producing your own as these liturgies are copyright to Northumbria Community, and we derive a significant part of our income from the sale of resources. All short, beautiful prayers in the Celtic tradition, rich in scripture, but easily accessible to all.Building on the foundations set down in the first volume, this new collection blends the voices of the early Celtic and desert saints with more contemporary sources in ways that continue to speak to us in our own generation and culture. As well as the Daily Office, there are four original Communion services, along with liturgies and prayers that have emerged out of real-life experiences of seeking God in many differing contexts throughout the world. Saint’s Day February 1st: Brigid (450-523)Eight years before the death of Patrick (see March 17th), a girl was born to a pagan Irish chieftain and a Christian slave woman from the land of the Picts.

I had hoped for it sooner as I was on sabbatical 2018/19 and had to leave the physical copy at home. Therefore I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities for the sake of Christ; for whenever I am weak, then I am strong. For this reason it is short, and can be prayed in the time it takes to boil a kettle, especially if committed to memory. A regular cycle of daily prayers constitutes the essential rhythm of life, around which other activities can take their proper place. A friend of mine suggested that I get this book to help with my daily quiet time, because I was struggling to find something to hang my routine on without becoming stale. the Kindle Celtic Daily Prayer has been great as we have shared it so we can all see the same morning prayer page.
