After working closely with Katherine Butler, classical guitarist Mark Ashford re-trained his right hand and is now perfoming again. Presently Head of Guitar at the Birmingham Conservatoire, he has just released a new CD. He outlines his treatment on his website with some links to articles by Katherine Butler and the 'slow-down' technique pioneered by Naotaka Sakai. It is these 'slow-down' practice techniques, and sensory re-training that Ashford used to rehabilitate his hand.
